This practice is as kind and accommodating as any parent could hope for. From the receptionist, to Krissy, to Dr. Shah, MBPD truly takes the time to make sure your kids are as comfortable as possible. The office only sees one family at a time, and the level of care they give makes you feel like your child is their only patient… this is incredibly rare in across all settings. I have both a 4 yo with ASD, as well as a 1.5 yo who screams every time he goes to the doctor, and neither are the easiest of patients (brushing their teeth daily is a battle!). However, Dr. Shah and her team are so patient and willing to make things work for your needs. This practice has been fantastic for the young families in this neighborhood.

Amazing practice - I wish I knew more kids so I had more people to rave about this practice to. My sensitive child who has struggled with other dentist visits in the past had a great visit and actually asked not to leave at the end!

Very impressed with Dr. Shah and team. Extremely thorough, attentive, gentle and kind with our son and his dental care. She is a realist and goes above and beyond in every aspect from a welcoming office for little ones to the specific conversations with parents and patients.

Truly such a great first pediatric dentist experience! The team were all amazing and made us feel so welcome. Dr. Shah spent so much time going over the basics of dental care for a toddler before even getting into the actual exam. Their set up is great, with a cosy, private room with toys for the little ones who aren’t old enough for the normal dental chair. It was such a perfect set up that allowed us to feel comfortable during what could often be a difficult appointment for a young toddler!

After that first visit, my daughter thinks going to the dentist is a treat. Everyone there went above and beyond to make it a fun experience for her. The office is clean and shiny, the instruments are new and high tech, and the vibe is great. Feel very lucky we found this gem of a practice. I should also mention, I think the prices are pretty reasonable given the competition. Highly recommend.

We are so very grateful to have found Mission Bay pediatric dentistry. Dr. shah and the whole team there are incredibly kind, patient and supportive. My kids are so much more comfortable going to the dentist now. When my son got sealants he struggled a bit and they did so much to make both him comfortable and my younger son who was waiting. They really go above and beyond.

Outstanding experience at my child’s first ever dentist appointment. Dr. Erin and Nurse Krissy explained things well, were great with my 18 month old, and moved efficiently so that we started and ended the appointment on time. The facility is beautiful and very clean; it was also easy to park on the street right there. They also worked quickly to submit my insurance claim so I could be reimbursed. Mission Bay Pediatric Dentistry clearly makes a great effort to give top notch care and a fun experience, and we so appreciate it. Looking forward to going back!

Absolutely loved Dr. Shah and her office! She has an excellent ability to talk to kids. The office is immaculate and is state of the art (kids sized dental chairs with tvs mounted to the ceiling too!). I was worried about my kids’ prior dental care and she was so thorough and I feel so much more confident going forward. She provided a ton of dental education in a way that was helpful and not parent-shaming. We are so happy to have found her! Also her office staff was patient, kind, and great with kids!

Great experience! I took my 2 years old (who is not easy to deal with) for her first dentist appointment and I was surprised how well it went, not a single tear or tantrum, this team is really amazing! I strongly recommend this place.

The whole facility is designed for kids. They actually don't mind coming to the dentist thanks to the kind staff, Dr. Shah and the inviting facility. Dr. Shah also discovered problems that another dentist somehow missed, she saved our child from some serious agony. Highly recommend!

Dr. Shah and her team are amazing! Our daughter’s first dentist appointment at 15 months and she had a wonderful experience! There were minimal tears and we learned how to properly floss and brush her teeth. We want to make sure she has a positive association with going to the dentist office and Mission Bay Pediatric Dentistry absolutely provided that. We’re so happy to have found this practice!

Took my almost 2 year old to see Dr Shah for his first dental appointment and she and her team are so wonderful. They explain everything so well and are very welcoming and calm. They even sing during the teeth examination! I would highly recommend this office for your little ones. They even contacted our pediatrician for us. Took my almost-year old son to his first trip to the dentist last week and what a fantastic experience! Dr. Shah, Krissy and Sochi are a dentistry dream team, making sure that parents and kids are very well taken care of and making the trip enjoyable. Great thought and care was put in all levels - from the smooth check in, safety, treatment, explanations and small things like soothing and songs for kids when they get their first check up. Thank you to all of you and we look forward to our next trip!

Staff is very friendly and was completely supportive of my 12-month-old's antics before and during his exam. The office is stocked with toys and books, and the dentist and assistant have magic baby tooth songs they sing during the exam and cleaning that turned my bulldozer wild child into a docile lil' lamb. I guess the only drawback is they collect money upfront, bill your insurance, and then your insurance reimburses you so be prepared to pay upfront. Otherwise no complaints.

We had an incredible 1st dentist appointment with Dr Shah! From the minute we walked into her office, we were given an extremely warm welcomed by Sochi. Our nurse Krissy gave us a fun tour and we were really impressed by their innovative tech. Dr Shah is extremely kind and knowledgeable—we left highly informed and feeling confident about oral care! My son was given stickers are a soft toy. It was a perfect experience.

Just took my daughter here for her first dental appointment ever and cannot recommend this practice enough! They are patient, thorough, and know how to deal with small children. The office is super clean as well. Great experience overall!

I brought my son here today for his first ever dentist appointment. As a 15 month old, he gets very scared around new people and new environments. However, he was so at ease here. It’s is a beautiful office and you can tell so much thought went into it. They have an infant/toddler exam room that feels more like a little lounge. A comfy bench seat so my son and I both had plenty of room to sit together. The room was inviting, with books and toys to keep him engaged. Dr Shah and the nurse (I forget her name, so sorry! ) were both wonderful. They are both mothers themselves and the way in which they interacted with my son is truly a talent. They are both patient and gentle and even sang songs to him when he began to cry during the exam. It never felt rushed and Dr Shah thoroughly explained everything to me and even used demonstrations to really show me how I should be cleaning his teeth. They also sent us home with multiple little gifts, which again, are just wonderful little touches to see how much they care. My expectations were exceeded, and then some. It was such a fun visit! Also shout out to front office staff, she was also just lovely and explained everything so well. I highly recommend this practice to everyone!

Dr Shah is incredible. Known her for years and my kids love her. My two year old started crying during an appointment (because she was scared) and Dr Shah started singing. My 2 year called her Miss Rachel and has been talking about her ever since! Run, don’t walk. This is the best pediatric dentist experience we’ve ever had.

Amazing brand new facility. I was blown-away by how beautiful the office is and the type of care my daughter received. The dr took her time to get to know my daughter and her complicated medical history. The take home instructions and paperwork is amazing. I have been to many pediaitruc dentists and have never seen anything compared. She was able to do x-rays and her machine is top of the line. Nobody has ever been able to get x-rays from my daughter before. I am blown away.

Had a great experience with Dr Erin Shah and Mission Bay Pediatric Dentistry office staff. I brought my 2 year old for his first dental visit and they have a nice set-up for very young toddlers that isn't intimidating at all. Dr Shah and her dental assistant Krissy have been working together for many years and it's clear by their easy rapport and teamwork with each other. Will be going back again in 6 months for another routine exam and cleaning with my son. She does a good amount of parent education and I've stolen a phrase from her talking about "getting those sugar bugs" and my now toddler happily jaunts to get his teeth flossed and brushed every morning and evening. Also appreciate the availability of early appts at 830a for working parents. Was able to take him to this dental appt, drop him off at daycare, then head into work. Of note: Discuss with front office staff about how your dental insurance will work with their office and billing. I'm covered by Guardian Dental and had no issues. The process is a bit different than what I was previously used to, first they submit a "Pre Treatment Estimate" which will determine how much the visit will cost and how much insurance is going to cover. You can review it, then after making and completing the visit, you'll have to pay up front for the total cost of the visit at the end of the appt, then Guardian Dental subsequently reimbursed me 2 weeks later via a check in the mail.

Received amazing care for the very first visit for my 2yo kid

Amazing experience!

Dr. Shah and team were great from start to finish! I was nervous about taking my 5 year old to the dentist for the first time, since he had traditionally resisted others looking in his mouth and checking his teeth. But they were truly oriented towards a child’s needs. They explained everything before they did it, they used colorful pictures and fun words to explain what is happening (like digging for fossils to describe checking for plaque) and overall helped him stay calm and cooperative. He was very excited to receive toys, stickers and a water bottle at the end. Would definitely recommend for anyone with a child.

Wonderful experience here - highly recommend to everyone, especially if you have a nervous kid! It was extremely smooth and well operated, and there are tvs for the kids with Disney+ !

They were really good at explaining and our concerns as a parents and with my son they were gentle at cleaning.

Dedicated dentist and a friendly staff. Unfortunately, they aren't in-network with Delta PPO. They request upfront payments and later bill insurance, which was acceptable to me until I discovered they are out of network. My insurance coverage barely offsets the expenses, resulting in a hefty bill for a routine cleaning. The office will mention having a 'contract' with Delta PPO, but it doesn't necessarily mean they are in-network. Additionally, pre-authorization isn't a standard procedure unless you ask for it as a courtesy. I learned all of this the hard way. Be sure to verify your insurance's coverage with this provider before your visit to avoid any surprises. Otherwise, I would not recommend this place.

Best pediatric dental visit experience Dr. Shah and nurse Krissy are super friendly and professional. My 3yo son enjoyed and cooperated with the doctor for the entire time. Absolutely no tear no fear. The clinic is brand new, the environment is clean and comfortable. I would recommend Dr. Shah to all my parent friends! Update 11/13 We have Anthem HMO Basic dental insurance. This clinic is out of network. Dr. Shah handles filing insurance claim and I received full repayment from Anthem today.

Excellent will children. My daughter is only 15 months old so I was worried an her going to the dentist so young. But this dentist is so good with her. She really is great with children and gives awesome tips on how I should keep her teeth clean. They also have awesome toys. My baby didn't want to leave.

Wonderful first patient experience for our 22 month old! Dr Shah was so gentle and kind. Although it as a totally new environment, our toddler loved it. Glad she is in our neighborhood.

We really recommend Dr. Shah, she took great care of my 2y toddler and explained all our questions and shared great advice for our daily teeth cleaning routine. Our daughter was pretty happy with all the toys and attention from the Nurse and the Receptionist. The office is brand new and everything is in placed. Plus they will take care of all the paper work with the insurance (extra points for this). 10/10 ?

Dr. Shah and team were incredible. They made us feel comfortable and right at home even on the first visit. They had dental -related toys in the lobby for our child to play with, took us in and took their time getting to know us and explaining everything, did a very thorough exam, and even had fun glasses for my son to wear during his exam. They had a tv that allowed my child to sit still during his cleaning , and welcomed us with a welcome gift. Highly professional and friendly. Highly recommend

Highly recommend Mission Bay Pediatric Dentistry! The team was so helpful and friendly in setting up the visit and when getting us checked in and processing our insurance - in particular it was great they were able to accommodate scheduling our twins together. The visit itself was great - we got to tour the beautiful new facility and learn a bit about the team and their approach. The visit itself was great - Dr. Shah and the team made an effort to make their first dentist visit special and to make sure the littles felt comfortable and were entertained while walking through the history and education parts of the visit. I was a bit worried about how the cleaning and exam would go - but the team set my mind at ease - they let the kids choose their cleaning and fluoride flavors, took the time to explain what they were going to do, show them the tools and some of how it might look/feel like. The cleaning and exam were over quick and the kids even got to pick and toy and sticker at the end. We also went home with goodie bags that help to set us up with good dental hygiene going forward! We'll be back for our next exam and are so thrilled to have a practice like this in the neighborhood which makes visits SO easy and convenient!

I brought my 5yo for an examination and cleaning and we had a great experience! Highly recommended. - the dentist explained everything that she saw and gave good recommendations on what to do at home - everyone is friendly, there's toys in the waiting room and even a TV to watch cartoons while on the chair. All this made my kid feel at ease and actually excited to be there - the space is new, clean, and with only 2 chairs so it does not get crowded - easy to find free parking nearby - I was able to get an appointment within the same week

Dr. Shah and team made my daughter’s first dental experience as seamless as possible. The whole experience was gentle and made my daughter excited to participate in her own dental care. The clinic was very intentionally designed for children, beginning with a play area in the waiting room, to having a daybed set up in the exam room to allow the child to lay in their caregiver’s lap for comfort during the exam. Dr. Shah also gave us great ideas on how to handle transitions to help support oral health. I highly recommend Dr. Shah and team!

I took my little one (3-year-old) for her first dentist visit and I couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant experience. They were patient, easy-going, and very thorough. They also provided us with some amazing tips for properly brushing my daughter’s teeth. My daughter enjoyed the fact that they weren’t too pushy and forceful. They took her age into consideration, alongside the state of her mouth and teeth, to decide what was entirely necessary during this visit. Looking forward to continue working with them!

Our experience with Krissy and Dr. Shah was amazing. This was the first time that I took my 2 year old to the dentist and I really wanted to take him to a welcoming and happy place. This one exceeded all our expectations! He had just woken up from a nap, but they made the whole experience so warm, slow and sweet that they could brush, floss and do the fluoride on his teeth without any issues or tears! The place is brand new, clean, beautiful and made for toddlers and kids. On top of everything they sent us home with the cutest tooth brushing kit and they let my toddler pick some favors to take home! I recommend Dr. Shah and this place 100%.

I took my 13-month-old baby boy to Mission Bay Pediatric dentistry for his first dental visit and it has been a wonderful experience for both us. Krissy and Dr. Shah are amazing professionals: they are extremely knowledgeable, kind and highly committed to their little patients. They went above and beyond making my son comfortable during the visit, including singing while cleaning/flossing which I found extremely sweet and useful at the same time. Not only this, we also received a welcome gift, first visit-instax pic and gadget stickers. The facility is brand new, perfectly clean and all equipment is top-notch. As mother, I felt reassured and supported: they cleared my doubts, answer my naive first-time mom's questions and also help me with the paper insurance paperwork. Last, pricing is extremely competitive, they offer infants and first time visits discounts. Looking forward to our next visit, and recommend to anyone in a heartbeat!

This place just opened up, and I was so impressed with our first visit. My 2.5 year old has always been so finicky about letting me brush his teeth, so I was delightfully surprised when he let Dr. Shah do a full exam and brush all his teeth! Both she and the nurse have such a wonderful, kid-friendly way about them. Plus, the office is brand new, and has a really welcoming, open plan to it that I think makes it feel a little less claustrophobic than some dental offices where you're in these very small exam rooms. I have a second baby on the way, and they have a separate room just for babies. The only downside was having to pay up-front and then be reimbursed by my insurance later, but given how great this visit went, I think that's a fair trade for my kid not being scared of the dentist!

AMAZING children’s dentist!! I have a very behaviorally challenging 3 year old who LOVED coming to see Dr. Erin Shah and her team! I expected tears but he was all SMILES for his first dental appt ever! My older child also enjoyed it! Dr. Erin Shah and her team are so talented and attentive. I will be recommending her office to allllll my parent friends and family!!
