Here’s a disappointing story. I have an abscessed tooth and for a few reasons it has to be removed by an oral surgeon. I am now 33 days past diagnosis for the abscess. I went through the process and got a date in the future to have it extracted by DFWOMS. I paid the money required before the deadline to keep my procedure date. I was supposed to have it removed this morning but yesterday at 4:30 in the afternoon they called and said “we had to update your treatment plan and now you have to pay another $600 before your surgery in the morning.” That’s a 30% increase to what they had already quoted and I had paid. It was last minute, I can’t adjust that quick. If they had notified me in a timely fashion it wouldn’t be a problem. I recently bought new tires for my car. I could have delayed that. I told them “I need you to work with me and give me less than 30 days to get it paid, but I need this tooth out of my head. The antibiotics to keep the infection away are destroying my guts.” The call from them first thing this morning was “you have to pay or we reschedule.” I told them “if it doesn’t happen today you can refund my money and I will go somewhere else, I want to talk to the office manager.” Then I hung up. After I scheduled a consult with another surgeon for tomorrow morning, I called and asked to talk to the office manger so we could discuss timeline for the refund. I was told “she is on her way to the office and will call as soon as she gets here.” That was at 8:34 this morning. I have waited all day and nothing. You have to understand, they don’t care about patient quality of life. They don’t care the antibiotics are tearing me up. They don’t care that I have been off my arthritis meds for a month at the request of their dentist. They don’t care that I shuffled everything around at work and found driver to drive me to the procedure and get me home. Nope, patient doesn’t matter, only the money. Eight hours waiting today and still no return call from the office manager.

This location along with the Mesquite office is completely unprofessional. The way the assistant manager is allowed to speak to people is astounding and to be told the manager gave her permission to speak that way leaves you lost for words. I would say more but not necessary.

PLEASE REVIEW DR. PEDRO FRANCO. No dentist should be giving life-or-death quotes to a patient in a field like blood disorders. I came in from a consultation with Dr. Franco about wisdom teeth removal. He came in and started with pet names like "princess" (This continued throughout the appointment). I thought maybe he does this with everyone and moved on. We discussed it a few minutes before I verified they had my blood disorder in my charts. He immediately asks what my periods are like. While trying to explain they are very inconsistent and I haven't had one in a while he kept interrupting and then switched to "What happens when you cut your finger and it bleeds." After not knowing how to answer he started saying how I don't have the blood disorder because it only affects men and that it's just lying dormant in my genes so I'm fine. When trying to explain women have it in my family after we all got tested he said "Well mother nature should stabilize it or you'd die so you'll be fine." I was in shock after hearing that. He asked me if I was a student and if I work to which I responded and the conversation seemed to go on as normal. However when he asked about hobbies and I expressed I act and model he responded how diverse my talents are mixed in with some uncomfortable comments about my appearance. I can vaguely understand nicknames and completes being a way to make someone comfortable but the level of it was doing the exact opposite. The pushiness and lack of self-awareness about my disorder were shocking. He was trying to explain to me a blood disorder that I've been diagnosed with for going on 7 years now that I had to explain to him when I first brought it up. If you have concerns about it affecting the surgery then it makes sense to discuss but saying that Mother Nature will fix it or I'm dead is something no one should hear.

I love Dr Franco he is the best. I can’t say the same for the insurance verification staff. I was told the first insurance didn’t cover. I got new coverage and called them over 3 weeks ago with the new info and I have yet to receive a call with the benefits. Every time I call they say she will call me back and doesn’t call back. If it wasn’t for the doctor I wouldn’t keep insisting, but I may have to give up soon if they never call.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Pedro Franco and his team. This is the second time my family has turned to him for wisdom teeth removal, and once again, he exceeded our expectations. This time it was my middle daughter's. We did have to wait 30 minutes for our appt., but after waiting over 3 hours at an orthopedic, this was nothing. When we did see him, I was shocked that Dr. Franco spent nearly an hour with us during the consultation, making sure all questions were answered. His attentiveness and kindness put her at ease, which meant the world to us. On the day of surgery, his staff was incredibly prepared and everything went off without a hitch. Dr. Franco was kind and courteous, aware that my daughter was nervous, and he displayed the best bedside manner I’ve ever seen. One aspect that particularly stood out to me was his approach to pain management. He doesn’t prescribe opioids or narcotics, which initially made me nervous, fearing my daughter would be in pain afterward. However, we had followed his detailed protocol, and I was amazed that after having all four wisdom teeth removed, she was able to manage her pain with just Tylenol. This speaks volumes about his expertise in utilizing multiple non-narcotic pain medications effectively, which is especially important when treating children and avoiding the risks of opioid addiction. What truly sets Dr. Franco apart is his level of care and communication after surgery. The night following the procedure, I had some concerns. To my surprise, Dr. Franco personally texted me from his own phone to check on my daughter and spent 15 minutes explaining that everything we were experiencing was normal. The next day, he was readily available to answer additional questions. It's rare to find a surgeon who not only provides exceptional medical care but also opens a direct line of communication with his patients and their families. This level of dedication and accessibility is almost unheard of these days. If you have any concerns about your teeth, I highly recommend Dr. Franco. this is going to be a long review but it’s worth reading if you care about your health. on august 2, 2024 i got all four of my impacted wisdom teeth out at this office with dr.Franco. at first everything seemed fine and i really wasn’t too worried. the very next day i had woken up and the anesthesia had worn off and i was in the worst pain. Franco texted me from his personal cell phone (which i was uncomfortable with) asking how i was doing and feeling. i told him i was having extreme pain. i then tried to look at the hole (that should’ve been stitched) and the stitches had come undone. i explained this to Franco and he said it was normal and fine. fast forward a couple days and the pain just kept increasing. i called the office because i thought it was a dry socket and they told me over the phone that it wasn’t and not to worry.? a week and a half after my surgery i was still in extreme pain and discomfort and at this point my jaw was leaking green and yellow pus and my throat was swelling to the point that i couldn’t swallow water without feeling extreme pain. ANYONE WHO STUDIES ANY KIND OF HEALTHCARE KNOWS THATS A CLEAR SIGN OF INFECTION!! i went back to this office to be seen and get some kind of help for my issues and pain. at this point i couldn’t swallow anything, and my entire face and neck were hurting with extreme throbbing pain. franco came in and looked and me and basically said he’s never heard of anyone having my symptoms and because of this he deemed there was nothing wrong with me. i explained over and over that i was in extreme pain and he laughed and said “what do you want me to do? put you in the hospital?”. at this point i started crying out of frustration and he said “i can prescribe you pain medicine and an antibiotic if you really think you have an infection” first and foremost, no doctor should EVER prescribe any medication without being 100% certain there’s an issue or illness. for him to just write out the prescription even after saying there’s nothing wrong with me just to get me to stop complaining is the biggest red flag. i explained how pain meds don’t touch the pain and amoxicillin isn’t helping either. he laughed at me again and said accusingly “i’m not giving you narcotics!!” i was offended and let him know that was not what i was implying with my statement. after this i left his office crying and frustrated. the next day i went to the ER and they took one look in my mouth and they told me it was a very bad infection and they gave me very strong antibiotics and pain killers. 2 weeks later and my pain is now gone and i can finally swallow again. had i not gone to the ER that infection could’ve spread and turned into sepsis. Dr.Franco DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HIS PATIENTS. he’s literally just there to make money and leave. no bedside manner, he laughed at my concerns and humiliated me, he ignored my pain and health concerns. i’m sure TSBDE is going to love hearing about my experience here. hopefully one day he gets his licenses revoked so no one else has to experience his NEGLIGENCE.

I would highly recommend for all of you to schedule with Dr.Giglou for wisdom teeth removal .I had my 14 year old teen boy get his 4 wisdom teeth removed with Dr.Giglou and he had a really good experience. He is the Best Surgeon Doctor.My son was well cared with no pain at all,and well comfort.Front Desks well respected and well greeting,all of the staff.They were reasonable with me and took good care of my son.They work fast and well care on u're care.Also ? I HAVE DENTAL IMPLANT PLACED IN 11/2017 AFTER THAT IT TOOK A WHILE FOR ME TO GET MY JAW SURGERY DONE BECAUSE I WAS REALLY SCARED OF WHAT WOULD BE THE OUTCOME UNTIL, I COULDN'T BEAR THE PAIN ANYMORE. SO IN 2021 IN FINALLY DECIDED TO GO FOR IT. SURGERY WAS NOT DONE UNTIL 11/2022. -I WAS DISCHARGED AFTER A MAJOR SURGERY WITHOUT A HOME MEDS. I HAVE TO TEXT THE DOCTOR TO ASK FOR MY MEDICATIONS. - YOU WILL WAIT FOR 2-3 HOURS BEFORE BEING ATTENDED TO. - I HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT PAIN, AFTER THE EFFECT OF TGHE ANESTHESIA WAS GOBE LIKE AROUND MARH OF LAST YEAR. THIS OFFICE DID NOT RESPOND UNTIL I FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE BOARD OF DENTAL EXAMINER. - THEY USED A DENTAL TECHNICIAN FROM THE LABORATORY TO DO THE MEASUREMENTS AND DENTAL FITTING ON ME, I EVEN ASKED HER, WHY ARE YOU THE ONES DOING THIS, THEY SAID IT'S BECAUSE SHE CAN DO IT FASTER THAN THE STAFFS OF THIS DENTAL OFFICE. (I AM SEEING A NEW DOCTOR NOW, ADN I AM BEING TAKEN CARE OF BY THE DOCTOR HIMSELF AND NOT A LABORATORY TECHNICIAN). ANYWAYS, TO MAKE MY LONG STORY SHORT, THEY LET GO OF ME AS A PATIENT. THEY DID NOT COMPLETED THE SERVICES AFTER WE PAID THEM $51,500.00 FOR MY TEETH . THIS WAS PAID FOR BEFORE MY DENTAL IMPLANT SURGERY IN 2017. JUST SO I CAN MOVE ON, I HIRED A LAWYER TO GET MY MONEY BACK AND I WAS INFORMED THAT THEY HAVE NOT RESPONDED TO THEM, (WHICH DOES NOT A SURPRISE ME BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE). SO JUST BE CAREFUL, BEFORE YOU TRUST THIS DOCTOR AND DENTAL OFFICE WITH YOUR HEALTH AND YOUR MONEY. ===== AS OF OCTOBER 15, 2024, THEY RESPONDED TO MY LAWYER GIVING THEIR INSURANCE COMPANY TO SETTLE WHAT THEY HAVE DONE TO ME, BUT UNTIL NOW NO ANSWER FROM THEM. Just saw Dr. Franco, he is knowledgeable, thorough and professional. His office staff has been polite and courteous. The clinic is clean and well kept. The only thing I will say I came about 2 weeks ago and was 15 minutes early for my appointment. I ended up leaving and rescheduling because I waited 45 minutes for them to call my name. I rescheduled at 8:30 on a Friday hoping that I wouldn’t have to wait as long and I’m writing this review at 9:10, who knows how long I’ll have to wait for this time. Please be respectful of other people’s time.

DO NOT SEE DR. FRANCO IF YOU WANT GOOD BEDSIDE MANNERS AND IF YOU FEEL LIKE YOU'R BEING HEARD. I just left Dr. Franco's office. The staff was great from making an appointment to being checked in. I've had facial swelling for years and finally was in a financial place to get it resolved. I am not a cryer . All my friends and family say I have no emotional bone but let me tell you I left from seeing Dr. Franco's office crying and calling my husband to help me calm down. After I told Dr Franco my history of my wisdom teeth he was not listening and instead of helping me with solutions he was bashing me and saying "I don't see any swelling, you're face is just like that" After I started getting emotional is when he offered other solutions. He got upset that I told him he had no bedside manners. Again, I am a very classy person so I kept my composure. I talked to the manager but obviously they were on his side. He is the owner (terrible right) and oversees all other doctors. They did refund my money so I could get a second opinion. I made an appointment here because they're known to be the best and I don't doubt he's great at his job but he could use Jesus and read some people skills books.

Horrible experience. I scheduled a consult and waited 3 months for it. On my scheduled time, they sat me in a room for 3 hours straight, and when I asked how long it would be. They said the doctor is in a surgery?? Really??? You’re doing surgeries in between consults??? Why even make me arrive 3 hours early just to sit my in a room and do nothing? I honestly think they forgot I was there. After we complained, a lady walked into our room and just kept saying “sorry these things take time” and didn’t give us any good reasons. I walked out and asked for a refund. These people don’t respect their patients.

Dr. Franco is rude and uptight his attitude and energy was shown through not only to me but my husband on 2 seperate occasions. my daughter had an impacted tooth and needed surgery. He has to try really hard to not come off as a jerk you can tell it doesn’t come naturally. He gets snippy when you ask reasonable questions. I don’t care for him. The staff is nice, office is nice.

I came to this place and the doctor wasn’t even here he came an hour late and then had us wait more for them to set up the room (an additional hour). If you value your time management I highly suggest not coming here or at least make sure the doctor is at the actual location.

I came to this dental specialist recommended by my dentist for the removal of my wisdom teeth due to the dental specialist that goes to the dental clinic goes at a random day and was unable to work with my work schedule. The dental clinic sent my information to this specialist, and they were able to with my work schedule. They set my appointment the same week that I was on my vacation, and my experience was amazing. They did their own examination of my teeth, and it matched the same results from my dentist. I had two wisdom teeth that were damaged and they were in the opposite position, one on my top left and the other on my bottom right, and they recommended removal of all my wisdom teeth to prevent damage on my gums. They put me to sleep, and I didn't feel pain when they removed my wisdom teeth. There were some complications removing my top left wisdom tooth because it was far in and it got my face swollen on my left side, but they prescribed me some medication and within a week my face on my left side return to normal. I went again a week later to see my healing process, and the specialist said that is healing nicely. Overall, I had a good experience, and I recommend this specialist for any dental care that needs surgical treatment.

I don't even know where to begin to explain the amazing experience I had here. I had a loose molar and was in extreme pain and another dentist would not extract the tooth. I was desperate and just started calling around to oral surgeons in Irving. I called here to see if it was possible to be seen ASAP and they made an appointment for me the next morning at 10 AM. I was so nervous going in for the consultation because of previous experiences I've had . I have never had a tooth pulled and have not been to a dentist in over 10 years so I was basically terrified. The women at the front desk were amazing. The customer service that I received was beyond my expectations. They answered every question that I had and made me feel more comfortable with the procedure. The nurses were great as well. They explained everything thoroughly and were so nice and thoughtful and it really eased my nerves. Dr. Franco came in the room and immediately told me that he was going to take care of me, and not to worry about anything. He made me feel so comfortable, and did not judge me at all. He kept reminding me that I was in charge and whatever I was comfortable with, he would take care of. Within an hour they were able to extract my tooth and I don't remember any of it (which is awesome!) After the surgery Dr. Franco met with me again and reassured me that I will be feeling better in no time and he was right. I know that there is a bigger reason that I was sent to this location and I thank God for all of the people who work there. If I ever have to have any more dental work, I am definitely coming back here and I would recommend that anybody else does as well.

We had the BEST experience with Dr. Franco! My 18 year-old daughter has suffered from debilitating headaches for years. After years of appointments with multiple specialists, we were referred to an oral surgeon. Dr. Franco came recommended by multiple personal references. My daughter has been given pain pills in the past, so as a mother, I appreciate that Dr. Franco doesn’t prescribe opioids and instead uses multiple, non-addicting medications to treat pain. Dr. Franco immediately recognized her TMJ and with kindness and humor, he put her at ease. He injected her with neurotoxin and created a plan for her TMJ. 4 days later and she hasn’t had a single migraine! For other patients dealing with pain- I highly suggest Dr. Franco. He doesn’t send you home with scripts for pain pills; instead he creates a solution and a plan. Plus, his calm, professional demeanor was exactly what my daughter needed. Excellent surgeon and we are lucky to have him in DFW!

My daughter (5) had an issue with a back molar that would never be able to erupt through the gums, so she needed an extraction. They were so patient, kind, and sweet to her. I was referred to Dr. Pedro Franco for lower jaw surgery and disk surgery. I initially liked him and his bedside manner, aside from the waiting room time. Each visit I waited 1-2 hours to be seen by him. I was nervous to go through such an intense surgery without opiates, but Dr. Franco assured me that nerve blockers and muscle relaxers were enough. The surgery was done in the facility instead of a hospital. I was discharged almost immediately after waking up. When I got home, I could barely even swallow water because my throat had swollen so much. My mom called Dr. Franco and we were assured this was normal. I was afraid for my life and have since put off having any other necessary procedures done because I am so traumatized. The “surgical planning” was done by his staff, one who was learning to use the machine. I feel like the whole process was rushed and I sometimes have intense panic that it was done incorrectly. I was in so much pain post operation that my general practitioner found it necessary to prescribe a mild pain medication, which helped substantially. During the follow-up I was given little to no instructions on how to widen my bite, and now I’m left with a very narrow opening. Two glands behind my ear have been swollen ever since the surgery, which Dr. Franco has brushed off and said they were probably swollen before. It’s been three years and they are still swollen. He refused to call in a titanium allergy test despite me asking for it. My pain levels increase daily to the point that I am talking less. I’m still not able to eat foods I used to enjoy. I called for another follow up, but since it’s been a little over three years I was told there would be a $250 fee which is outrageous. Although this surgery was done for functional reasons, I have less function than ever before and I hate my new jawline. I feel disheartened, blown off, and as though my concerns have been ignored. I wouldn’t recommend anyone have such a serious surgery done without any pain management and I cannot recommend this doctor. Please get second and third opinions if you are looking into jaw surgery.

Okay. Went in for a consult and the staff is very nice but the wait time was ridiculous. My appointment was at 3:40 I arrived 3:46 and called ahead to let them know and they said it would be fine. after paperwork and x-rays I was placed in a room at about 4. An hour goes by and no one comes in to update me or let me know why I’m waiting so long for a 10 min consult so I let the front desk know I have somewhere to be at 5:30. At 5:15 she let me know the doctor is going to come in shortly since I’m in such a rush and I told her I was not in a rush my appointment was at 3:40 and i didn’t expect to need 2 hrs to have someone look at my wisdom teeth. The surgeon was great, thorough, and polite but I really felt like they didn’t care about wasting my time when they didn’t even bother to update me after sitting alone in a room for an hour for a consultation that’s was literally FIVE minutes

I just went yesterday for my surgery two take off my last upper wisdom teeths! As a very anxious person is a BIG relief going into iv sedation. This is my second time going bc the firts time they did my bottom wisdom tooth that it was a more complex case bc i had a bone grafting, but it went all fine and every concern was attended. On my firts extraction i got treated by Dr. Jared Gilliland, very nice and explained everything i needed to know! This time it was Dr. Ahmed Zaidi, did my surgery and i got a text from him in the night making sure i was alright and if i have any concern! That give me the reassurance that i'm in good hands in my recovery, i hope that everying go smooth in this recovery! I'm gonna always recommed this places to anyone who need extracctions ?. If I could leave a negative star review I would. My step son was going in for his wisdom teeth to be pulled by Dr. Pedro Franco he immediately insisted he be put under with an IV drip. Us knowing that is not necessary and being totally uncomfortable with the idea of being put under we told him we only wanted numbing jell and shots. Myself and my husband as well as others we have known have had our wisdom teeth pulled without being put under. He's refused and said he was most comfortable putting the patient under we explained we didn't want to be forced into a procedure we are not comfortable with then he told us we can just leave and proceed to be rude. I went to the front desk and inquired on a manager and he rushed out there trying to interrupt the conversation and kept telling the front desk people to call the police on us! This is an absolute horrible person and a total scammer trying to force people into medical procedures just because he would prefer to bill me for an unnecessary procedure because it's convenient to him does not mean I should have to endure financial abuse from the system. And we definitely should have not been threatened or treated likes criminals because we were not comfortable with him forcing that medical procedure. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE DOCTOR. BEWARE!
Ms. Angelica, your son’s general dentist recommended your son for this procedure, as required for extractions to be performed under IV sedation. This was explained to you when setting up the initial consultation. When arriving to our office, your son was welcomed and our provider respectfully initiated the consultation however, he was immediately interrupted and was demanded to do the surgery under local anesthesia in a very disrespectful manner. Per the position of your son's teeth Dr. Franco could only perform the surgery under IV Sedation which he explained however, you went on to use foul language towards him when he was simply explaining to you why he is recommending this procedure. From there he did let you know that he would not be talked to in a disrespectful manner and that is when he brought you and your son out to the front desk to be dismissed. He did not rush out at any point, he simply asked you kindly to leave the office. We will not tolerate any lack of respect toward our providers or our staff. From there, the situation escalated to a situation where you asked to speak to someone higher up than our provider, who is the owner. We are not a corporate entity. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we do not appreciate the disrespect given to our team while we are doing what is best for the patient. Knowing Dr. Franco personally, he is a gentle and wonderful human being and does his best to help our patients. We do not tolerate disrespect and negative criticism displayed on our providers, team or office as a whole. We don't defraud our patients, and the reason we recommend a treatment plan is that it's what's best for the patient. I was referred by Trinity Dental Loft and their office is aesthetically pleasing, office staff is so friendly, and Black Owned WOOP WOOP. Hands down the best General Dentistry practice I've ever been to. Anywho, back to Dr. Franco. Dr. Franco made me feel like a person and not like a number. I was supposed to get surgery done in May this year with a different Doctor at a different practice and that Dr. wasn't so welcoming. I have to trust the surgeon. I feel I'm in good hands and trust Dr. Franco to remove my wisdom teeth. I get my procedure done very soon. After my first visit which went well, I was supposed to be followed by the patient and billing coordinator to schedule the surgery and give me an idea of the out of pocket cost. After several phone, I was given unprofessional excuses of the concerned person is in meeting or on vacation and no one bothered to follow up to tell me what is going on. When I called today to get my records so that I can see some other practice, they asked to fill a word document that will have to be approved by the doctor to release my record to me that will take 3 weeks for a turnaround. There is no online portal for me to access my own record and this is 2022.

This was a stressful time for our granddaughter, and everyone put her and us at ease from the first visit through the surgery (Mesquite TX). The front desk staff, assistants and the Dr were so calm and reassuring. They explained to us everything at our initial visit and then again after the surgery. On the day of her surgery to have her wisdom teeth removed everyone was so kind, calm and reassuring from the minute we walked in the door till we left. Bianca was a bit goofy on the way home and kept saying she just loved them they were so nice, kind and gentle and we must give them a 5-star rating, I agree with her they deserve a 5+++. my actual wisdom teeth removal was fine. no issues. but the billing process was an absolute nightmare that i'm apparently still dealing with 2 years later. my service was in 2020 and i received a letter in early 2022 from a debt collector trying to collect $477 for a service on 2/28/22 per the letter. well i didn't have a service then so i assume its a scam, but i call DFW oral & maxillofacial surgery office, no answer so i leave a voicemail and never hear back. i get another letter, call and leave another voicemail, no answer. so at this point i'm assuming this is some weird scam because to my knowledge i paid in full in 2020 and surely would have heard about any billing or insurance issues by now, right???? NOPE, i finally get a hold of the office on the 3rd or 4th time calling and ask about this outstanding bill and service in Feb 2022 and oh yes they actually did send this balance to collections without EVER notifying me that my insurance apparently didn't cover any of the service, i was days away from this affecting my credit. the woman at the irving clinic i (finally) spoke to on the phone was SO rude and said there's nothing they can do about it and they had no record of my voicemails so i definitely didn't call. lol. i felt like i was arguing with a 13 year old. now, because its so much later and i've switched jobs and now have a different insurance company, i cannot dispute the payment. I doubt the clinic even sent the insurance claim to my insurance. so yeah, i read another review from somebody who had a similar situation and would avoid this nightmare if i were you.

I had gone to several doctors and dentist before I was referred to Dr Franco. I was hesitant to go because he was an hour away but he was highly recommend so I went. He looked in my mouth for 2 seconds and was able to see what was wrong that nobody else had been able to in years. We scheduled surgery that day and after my surgery he called me to make sure I was doing ok, gave me his personal number and said to call or text if I needed anything. I had a wonderful experience today, I had my wisdom tooth removed; the tooth was impacted and causing sinus issues. I was worried I’d be in pain as this is an opioid free establishment (never had an opioid free procedure so I had questions), but the surgeon explained their new technology and put me at ease. He really knew what he was talking about and took the time to explain and answer all of my questions. I have PTSD from waking up wayyyy too early at Baylor, in major pain post op. That did not happen here! I was pain free the entire time, and I feel much better than I thought I would. The staff was very nice, and CLEAN! Super important as I have autoimmune disease and try to avoid dirty clinics at all costs. They’re not Covid crazy, they allow your advocate/driver/guardian to wait for you in the building, important if you need a patient advocate like me! The surgeon was extremely knowledgeable and I felt very confident he knew what he was doing (rare if you have chronic health issues and see a lot of doctors/surgeons). Baylor has nothing on these guys! I cannot get over how clean and professional this experience was. The most important thing was that I felt safe, as a woman, under the care of this practice. They listen, care, are clean, communicate everything they are doing and why, are comforting, and professional. I 100% would recommend this practice! Thank you Dr. Zaidi :)

My initial experience here was good. My family has had procedures done here (old office staff) and things went well. Went in for my wisdom tooth consultation and it went smoothly. After this appointment (In March....it is now May), I specifically asked for them to send a predetermination letter to my insurance. They never did. Called two weeks later to check in on the status and they hadn't sent it yet, so I requested it to be sent again. Still never sent it. Notified me TWO days before my surgery and told me I would owe almost double the original amount they quoted me. Asked them about the predetermination letter they sent and guess what?? They never sent it. Had they sent it, I would've been quoted a correct price earlier on in the process. The lady (name redacted) on the phone was not pleasant or patient when explaining things. She seemed rather surprised that I was frustrated about finding out I would need to pay almost double the amount TWO days before my planned procedure. HOWEVER, when I spoke to the Irving office, they were very patient when explaining things and understood my frustration. I'm going to assume that the Mesquite office was distracted when I asked for this to be sent well over a month ago because they were training new people. Definitely follow up five times on inquiries (even though you shouldn't have to). Two stars from me since the Irving office was helpful and understanding when I wanted to cancel all together and try another place that would be more timely, communicative and professional.

Dr. Pedro Franco is my hero because he saved my mouth, smile and looks. I had severe bone loss and was told that my case was too complicated and the only Doctor to see was Dr Franco. I was very embarrassed of my teeth and also the loss of bone caused my mouth to appear pushed in. He performed surgery and inserted zygomatic implants on top and regular implants on the bottom. Dr Franco worked tirelessly to make sure that I would get final teeth that would create the appearance of having a big, bright and beautiful smile. Not only is he a superb surgeon, but he is a very sweet man… a nice person and someone who makes you feel calm and in great hands. Additionally, his staff is professional and very competent. On a scale of one to one hundred, I would give Dr Franco a one hundred and fifty. Thank you Dr Franco to for all you have done for me!!

Dr Franco was referred to me by my daughters Orthodontist to have a Mesioden tooth surgically removed. Our first encounter back in August of 2021 was amazing, except I had gotten my truck stolen in the old parking lot during her consultation. Dr Franco went ABOVE AND BEYOND, to help me in every way possible and calmed me from a severe anxiety attack. He let my daughter and I stay in his office until my paramedic fiancé was able to leave shift and drive 2 hours to me. Fast forward to surgery day today, we arrived past time due to 2 MVA accidents that had traffic stalled from Mesquite to Rockwall… as soon as we arrived Dr Franco was ready for Nevaeh. His office staff didn’t once rush us, or ask us to reschedule while being extremely late. Dr Franco is seriously the best, most genuine and compassionate oral surgeon around, and his staff are just as well!! Nevaeh has had NO complaints and ZERO discomfort or pain. I felt completely at ease knowing my daughter was in good hands, and we hope to continue to use him for any Oral surgery needs! Thank you DFWOMS. :)

Since the first day I went in for my consult with Dr.Gilliland I had a great experience. Everyone in the office was very friendly and made the whole process easier for me a I was nervous about it. Happy Saturday everyone! Yesterday, I took my Sofia to have her 3 wisdom teeth extracted and all 3 teeth had to be surgically removed. This is considered major surgery with sedation and she did amazing!! She was a little nervous but knew she was in good hands knowing that Dr. Franco had also done her dad and brother's surgeries. As soon as I arrived, I immediately felt that I was in excellent hands, which is so important. This was THE most painless dental procedure that I have gone through. Everyone at the office was extremely nice especially Dr. Franco. I am usually afraid of going to the dentist, as are most people, but the atmosphere at Dr. Franco's office was such that I was certain that there was nothing to be afraid of. And the dental treatment I received was wonderful. I felt no pain during the treatment, and after 24 hours I have not felt even the slightest pang of pain. First of all no one I know actually enjoys going to the dentist. The staff here was very friendly and made me feel at ease. The doctor was very kind, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions, he even texted the day after my surgery to make sure I was still doing well. I was referred here by my orthodontist, and for my first consultation the office staff was pleasant, and Dr. Franco did a great job of explaining my upcoming surgery. I was not able to talk with the financial coordinator while there (because she was busy I guess?), but was told I would get a call later. Two days later, I had to call to remind them that I hadn't been contacted, and the coordinator called me later. I wasn't at all unhappy with my experience then, people get busy and forget to do things- it happens. Flash forward to three months later, I'm due to get some extractions done so I call to set up an appointment. I'm told I'll get a call back later. Okay... a week goes by, and I call again. Same thing. Week two, I call again and am told the coordinator has been out for two weeks (which would've been great to know... a week ago), but will be back that day and will give me a call asap. Nada. The next day I call back yet again, and tell them that if I don't get a call back that day I'm going elsewhere. I am assured I'll be contacted. Guess what? I now have an appointment with a different oral surgeon for next week. Tldr; the staff seems nice, but good luck getting them to contact you.

I want to say thank you so much to Dr. Zaidi. A week after my surgery, the clot came out and I was bleeding for about 5 hours straight. He came from Mesquite to Irving, after hours to help me. We were do scared about it. He didn't have to do this, but he did. It shows who matters to them. I would highly recommend this place. It's nice to have professionals that care so much. I had all impacted wisdom teeth, so it was scary.

I had a totally pain free experience having a molar removed. I arrived on time and was taken back within minutes to be set up for my procedure. The took my vitals and started my IV. The doctor came in and said let's get started. The next thing I knew I was waking up and walked to recovery where they immediately had my GRANDDAUGHTER meet me. I came here for 2 implants. Dr. Franco is EXTREMELY kind & and wants you to look & feel your best. I had the 1st part of my surgery in 2018 and just came back for my 2nd part. They are not stingy with the drugs! The laughing gas was a major help as I’m sure I would have panicked as soon a I saw the needle for the numbing meds (which hurt like hell). I cried a little. When he was done numbing me all I could think was “why would he be such a meanie?” ?? Again the laughing gas was in full effect. I felt NOTHING during surgery and it was over in about 15 min. He talked to me about next steps and things to communicate with my dentist & I was on my way!

Very efficient and professional. Great pre and post ok instruction to ensure healing. Only feedback is that should be option to have surgery without need for someone to drive me home. While groggy I was lucid enough to be able to call an Uber so that should have been an option. Instead I had to pay to fly someone from out of state that could stay with me for the procedure. I get the need to protect from a legal standpoint but would have like to have a waiver to sign if choosing not to have someone with me for the procedure.

Dr. Franco and his staff are incredibly helpful and super friendly. It is easy to tell he is patient oriented based on his office hours, his personal phone number which he provides every patient, and his affordable pricing. He is soft spoken and really cares for the patients health. I could tell because the medication he prescribed me had short half-life, thus making it safer for my liver and preventing hepatoxicity (liver damage by drugs). Trust me, neither he or the other doctors are trying to sell. During my consultation he told me told me the risks, different options, and even recommended if I dont need it, don't get it done. I can keep complimenting this place but I'm hungry and about to eat. 10/10 recommend

Quick, caring, fast and cost friendly. I was referred to this office for removal of a wisdom tooth. They were very upfront and made sure to address all my needs. Wisdom teeth extraction can be very nerve wrecking and the office staff and Dr. Franco made me feel at ease. I can’t say enough about how wonderful Dr. Franco and his team have been. Our 18-yr old son needed his wisdom teeth out. He is special needs, which, combined with the placement of the teeth, made for a somewhat unique situation. Dr. Franco removed our daughter’s wisdom teeth in the past, so he was an obvious choice. He is not only at the top of his field technically, but is very personable and good at working with those who may need some extra encouragement. His entire office staff treated us wonderfully. On the day of the surgery, despite needing full anesthesia, from arrival to departure was under two and a half hours. Our son healed remarkably quickly, to the extent that, even immediately after the procedure, physically you couldn’t tell he ever had it. Actually, everything went just fine. Even though my surgery was right when things were starting to close down due to Covid 19, all was handled professionally. The ONLY reason they did not get 5 stars is because I received a bill from them after my insurance paid their part. It was the first bill I ever received from them and it says Account Past Due. Just because it took them 2 months to get the insurance money, plus what I paid at the time of the procedure, before they issued a bill does not warrant an Account Past Due when it is the first time they billed me. Perhaps they should find a way to have that taken off the bills when they are sending out the first bill, it is very irritating to see when you know you are not past due.

This office does not have its act together. They cancelled and rescheduled my appointment two times and never told me they have an insane policy requiring you to have someone wait the entire time you are in surgery just to drive you home. Other doctor's offices will always call the driver before if you have a long procedure so your family/friend doesn't have to wait for the whole time. They ruined our mornings 3 times in a row this way and we still never got our procedure done. I will never go back to this office again. The office also looks like it is a Mexican Restaurant they converted into a dentist office - junky and dumpy. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor of any kind. Never again... These people are worthless.
Jon, while I am sorry to hear that you had such a negative experience, we have never treated nor scheduled a patient with your name. It is true that we require a patient to have a responsible adult present during the procedure. However, this is done out of an abundance of caution. As with any medical procedure, there are inherent risks involved. As such, we want to make sure that our patients have a friend or family member present in the unlikely event that complications arise during surgery. The last thing we would want would be for someone to have to rush to our surgery center, only to get into an accident. Simply put, we prioritize the safety of our patients above all else. In terms of our office space, it was actually designed and build from the ground up as an oral and maxillofacial center. It was also JACO or Joint Commission-certified, a certification earned by less than 10% of practices in the United States.

I was referred here by a co-worker, and I am extremely impressed. I haven’t been to the dentist in ten or more years and one of my top wisdom teeth was completely sideways and causing me tremendous pain. I came in for a consultation and they scheduled my surgery right away. I was terrified as I have never had any procedures done in my 25 years. Everyone was extremely reassuring that I was in the best care, And i was! Dr. Pedro was so soothing when I was freaking out. I have a severe anxiety disorder so this procedure was sending me into panic. But next thing I knew i was awake with no pain or anything! Two days post surgery and I haven’t even had to take the pain medicine i was prescribed. Plain advil/tylenol has been working wonders. I am so pleased with my experience with this clinic. Especially being a non-opioid establishment. I can’t imagine even needing that strength of pain medicine! Thanks entire staff for making me so comfortable!

I was in a severe car accident 3 years ago. Before coming to Dr. Franco I had already had several surgeries at JPS. Dr. Franco is correcting what they did and restoring my jaw alignment and other areas where I was missing bone or needed work. I still have more surgeries to go with him. My daughter recently had 4 wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Pedro Franco & Dr. Ahmed Zaidi. They did a great job. Not sure how complicated it was but to me it seemed it would be with one of the wisdom teeth growing sideways. All went great no issues. My daughter was laughing when she was done. I was referred to Dr. Franco following a 2-year dental aversion due to bad experiences with other dentists. I had a motorcycle accident that cost me a front tooth and loosened more, and the dentist who attempted to fix my teeth actually made things worse. From the first visit, Dr. Franco was able to allay the anxiety and doubt I'd had from my prior experiences, and imbued me with a confidence that I could genuinely have a full smile again. Between the initial consultation and Pre-surgery visits, I was blown away by the bleeding edge tools they utilize to generate full 3-dimensional color scans of my mouth to show me a exact map of what was to happen. The technicians they employ are top-notch, friendly, and really know their stuff. The day of the biggest oral surgery of my life, I went in with little anxiety, and I can't begin to explain how well it all went. Absolutely 0 discomfort, pain, noises or smells to have nightmares about later. Dr Franco (Dr. P) and his team did a tremendous job, and that evening, he even called me personally just to check up on me, and to answer any questions post-op. WOW. This is what going to the dentist should be like.

I have had TMJ for years and the night guard from my regular dentist was only helping a little. In addition to the headaches, my jaw muscles had become enlarged from the grinding and had become enlarged, creating an unattractive square look to my face. Dr Franco administered Botox to these muscles and the results have been great! No more headaches, tension in those muscles and even better, my normal face shape has been restored. Apparently, Botox to these muscles is a popular beauty trend in S. Korea as well for the coveted "V-shape" look. (I didn't know this before going in, but I would say its an extra plus to the actual medical relief from my TMJ headaches.

In all honesty, Dr. Franco is great, he is honest and to the point. I did encounter a few frustrating things. First and foremost, the staff member that discusses insurance and pricing with you is extremely RUDE. She rushes you to make a decision and sign stuff without giving you enough time to digest the information. She was not very professional and can be intimidating. I've worked in the medical field for 8 years, in a busy ER, but I know better than to behave the way she does. At the end of her discussing pricing with you, she hands you a meaningless rose; perhaps if she was a bit more cordial it would mean something, but I personally wanted to hand it back to her. Very unprofessional, she would be a reason I wouldn't come back. On a side note, the procedure was nice and quick. I do want to add, that I was in a lot of pain following the second day post dental surgery. Despite taking the prescribed Toradol and Tylenol, as well as using hot and cold compresses to my face, the pain was horrible. Even the ER physicians that I work with were surprised that they don't prescribe something a little stronger to get you through the pain for the first few days. I couldn't sleep from the pain. My son is scheduled to have wisdom tooth removal at this facility, but I will be cancelling the appointment. There is no way I'm going to watch him suffer with pain. I agree that there is a narcotic crisis in America, but also in being a medical professional, I also believe that not everyone is an addict or becomes an addict.

My boyfriend made an emergency app here because he thought he had an abscess after we went to the ER. He didn't and we came here to schedule surgery, they were so quick, by the time we realized they were a non Opioid non narcotic office we panicked they already had his down payment. Hes 27 years old and has a demanding job and has to heal over a 3 day weekend and the pain pills are necessary he was having all four impacted wisdom teeth removed at once. No that we do not agree with that approach but we would have appreciated knowing that before we scheduled the app because we would have gone somewhere else. That was only the beginning of the frustration when he called to cancel his appointment and request X-rays to go to a new office closer to home the front office staff was so horribly rude. We have learned our lesson in doing research from now on however we thought it was an emergency. We found somewhere closer to home cheaper and a guaranteed painless recovery, he can rest all weekend instead of be in agony taking over the counter ibuprofen.

Good Dentist are hard to find, with Dr.Franco i believe we have found a great family dentist for life. About a year ago in August of 2018 I was in a pedestrian/vehicle accident where I was hit by a SUV as I was crossing the street. The accident left me with multiple fractures amd broken bones but the worst was the entire right side of my face/skull where most of my bones were in pieces. I was rushed to medical city in plano and was operated on by one of their maxiofacial surgeons unfortunately the procedure was not done properly leaving my right eye in the incorrect place and lots of the metal plates that were used to repair the damage were not placed correctly causing problems with my vision and my jaw. The surgeon who preformed the procedure did not see me again even though i went in 3 times in the following months to check on how i was recovering I only spoke to his assistant and they told me everything was looking good even though I let them know my vision was not getting any better. Fortunately Dr Franco heard about my case and I went in to get a second opinion and he knew right away by looking at my face and the xrays that something was not right. He was able to explain to me what the cause of my vision and jaw problems were and he detailed exactly how he was going to fix it. A few weeks later I was scheduled to have the procedure redone and this time everything came out perfect. I can't even begin to thank Dr Franco for what he did for me and my family this procedure was not an easy one and he along with all his staff made sure I was comfortable and felt at ease knowing they would do everything they could to fix me up the right way. Thanks to him I dont have to wear an eye patch anymore and I'm back to looking and feeling good.

I did not have a good experience here. I was referred to Dr. Franco for jaw surgery because I was told he was one of very few who could do what I needed done. When I got there the staff was not friendly or welcoming and just handed us forms. When I met with Dr. Franco he didn’t really explain anything and just asked what another doctor (who we hadn’t yet been to) had said and then told us to go see him. He didn’t spend much time with me and didn’t really seem like he cared. I wasn’t impressed by his bedside manner or the way I was treated. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because he did not charge us for the visit since he turned me away for treatment, which was something not everyone would have done and it was greatly appreciated.
I truly hate that was your experience. I know its hard to try a place twice that you aren't happy with, but make another appointment and let us fix those mixed feelings.

The building is also extremely clean and very nice looking. I had to have a last minute surgery and I was quite nervous about it. He and his team were so friendly and calming and able to answer all of my questions and concerns. The surgery was very short and absolutely painless. 1. The office is very nice. It is much more elegant and stylish than the typical dentist office! 2. The staff and Dr. Price were all extremely friendly, courteous, and patient. I had come in for a third consultation for my wisdom teeth removal, and Dr. Price reassured me the way I hoped! I have no doubt that these surgeons do great work. 3.The pricing is where things get a bit confusing. a)This is a non-opioid/narcotic practice. I did not know this going into my appointment. This means that instead of prescribing you narcotics for pain after your procedure, they use Exparel injections to numb the surgery site for up to 3 days, allowing you to take milder pain meds. While I admire their efforts to prevent opioid addiction, insurance doesn't cover these injections- They run you $50. b) I was told that the surgeons recommend that everyone gets nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to ensure the utmost relaxation during the entire procedure and that it helps the IV sedative work. While I do believe this true, I have been told by many other oral surgeons that nitrous oxide is not necessary to ensure a successful procedure and only adds to your cost. Again, it is not covered by insurance and will run you $85. c) My estimate also had a $140 charge for " Therapeutic Parenteral Drugs-IV" (once again, not covered by insurance.) I was told that this is part of the IV solution that contains antibiotics and inflammatory agents. The surgeons at this practice will not do a procedure without it, even though many others do not require it. d) The pricing of each element of my procedure was in fact listed to be more expensive than the estimates I received at other consultations. Similarly to other reviews, it appears that this practice does bill more to insurance. That doesn't affect your set co-pay, but I suppose it's the principle that irritates some people? As for the required items that are not covered....my estimate was $310 more out-of pocket at this location than my previous consultations for the exact same procedure. I happen to be a student with a tight budget, so the cost difference will be a large factor in my decision. If money/insurance coverage isn't an issue, I think you will have an amazing experience here, and I would recommend the office to the right person. It seems that these doctors error on the side of maximum comfort and safety, which is what you should want! However, as I found out, you can find a great surgeon at a lower price elsewhere. I believe every patient should question everything, be proactive, and do their own research! Do what makes you feel comfortable!

Very rude stuff especially Elizabeth. She has no customer service skills what so ever. Also, they charge ridiculously much more than any other oral surgery offices and will over charge your insurance too, and when your insurance don't pay them, they will send it to collections and ruin your credit. Do yourself a favor and look for better service somewhere else.

Daughter had all four wisdom teeth pulled just two weeks ago. Surgery was scheduled quickly. They were on time with calling us to the back. They explained everything in detail and answered all of our questions, most before we asked. They joked with her and this calmed her a bit - for a kid that never gets sick, she has had two years of oral issues that included in jaw bone cysts last year - and she was done with surgery both times within 2 hours. With her wisdom teeth removal, she slept for about 4 hours, woke, took medication and went back to sleep for 2 hours. She was in some pain, but played games and watched TV with the family. Within two days, she had no pain and was begging to eat regular food. They are amazing with great customer service and love for their patients.. They even give roses instead of lollipops... Dr. Franco is awesome and we tell everyone about his place. I couldn't ask for a better staff to take care of my most valued assets (my kids). Thank you for reading.

Wonderful facility with wonderful staff. My 7 year old niece had 5 teeth removed and had to go under anesthesia. They made her feel safe and comfortable and let me and my sister stay in the room until she was knocked out. They brought us back in immediately after the surgery was done. My husband has been receiving services for over a year and has told me how wonderful Dr. Franco and his staff are. Well, I needed to have a tooth pulled and an implant. I have experienced dental anxiety all of my life and this seemed almost "undoable" for me. After talking to Dr. Franco at my first consultation, I was reassured that he would be able to make me comfortable during and after the procedure. Not being the "trust me" type of person, I did trust my husband's opinion so scheduled the procedure. Much to my delight, Dr. Franco and my husband were both correct! I had no swelling, no bruising, no pain at all during or after the implant procedure. I was relaxed before the procedure started, his nursing staff were attentive, respectful and supportive throughout the whole process. Dr. Franco was there when I woke up, talked to me, and I went home pain free. I expected to experience some type of discomfort but nope, nada, zilch, absolutely no pain - ever! If you want somebody who will listen to your concerns, not rush through the exam, who is patient and respectful of you and your issues, please consider coming to Dr. Franco and his staff. At least schedule a consult and see for yourself!

My husband was referred by a local dental office to remove a wisdom tooth a couple of weeks ago. He was in so much pain and Dr Franco's office was able to see him the same day for a consult. He recommended that the tooth needed to come out because the way it was growing in and that's exactly what he did.
