Not sure what all is going on in this office but it has drastic employee/front desk turnover. Over the past several months, I have talked with 3 different 'schedulers'; Monica, Marlene, and Carley. Not to mention, they are very difficult to get in contact with. They use an automated system that sends you appointment reminders all strange hours and ask that you call if you need to reschedule. However, the office is closed. Initially, I had to drive back to the office two days in a row because Monica forgot to get impressions/X rays on the first day. I had an appointment on Feb. 4 for implants but had to cancel because I had the flu. I left a voice mail Sunday night but Carley said they didn't get it. She's saying since my notice wasn't within the 48 hours required notice, they are requiring the full amount of the procedure to be paid 3 weeks prior to the rescheduled appointment. I suggest you get your house in order before you make high demands on your patients (ex-patient). I'm disappointed because I've built a trust relationship wit Dr. Castello but just can't deal with the front desk nor knee jerk reactions from Carley. Every conversation with Carley is rude and combative.

From the moment I walked in the door I felt safe and welcomed. I was greeted by a warm smile from Branden at the front desk, who helped me get checked in and let the staff know I was ready. Sara very soon came out to get me and brought me to the back. She was very pleasant and made me feel comfortable and assured me all was going to go well. The rest of the team came in one by one, all with smiles and great energy. Dr. Castillo was sure to keep me updated with step by step of what was happening and repeatedly asked me how I was doing. I cal them a team because that’s exactly what they are, everyone assisted each other to make sure whatever task at hand was complete. With Christmas music in the background and the procedure not taking long at all, this was by far one of the most pleasant experiences I’ve had while getting work done! Had an emergency dental appointment to have my wisdom teeth removed scheduled at another facility, however the surgeon was unavailable. Due to the quick response time and leniency in squeezing my surgery into their busy schedule, I was able to get the wisdom teeth removal scheduled at DFW Oral Surgeons same day. Extremely kind staff, and very helpful in understanding processes and post-surgery recovery for a first time surgery patient. The nurses and surgeon were quick, professional yet amicable, and I am grateful for being able to have been scheduled same day to rid of my problematic wisdom teeth as quickly as possible. While I didn't need it due to a primary dentist, they followed up after the surgery (2 days) since I hadn't called back, and I find the motion to check in after the surgery very respectful. Dr. Lim is AWESOME! Both of our boys recently had their wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Lim and we cannot shout his accolades enough! He identified an elevated risk factor for one of my son's surgical procedures and took extra steps to avoid any issues. Both boys' surgeries were absolute successes, with zero issues and faster recoveries than anticipated. Dr. Lim called two separate times to check on both of my sons, He genuinely wanted to know that they were both doing well and kept reiterating that he was available anytime if any issues arose. Dr. Lim extracted my bottom wisdom tooth. He did in 1 hour what another doctor took 3-4 hours to do! I went to a different doctor before to get one of my wisdom teeth extracted and it took 4 hours then I did the second and Dr. Lim numbed it and was done in a hour! I didn’t use any gas or goto sleep. Went to work the next day! I’m very bougie guy so I like nice things I’ve done all the research for you I went to DFWs best oral to find the best one I decided to choose this one Best in Denton county out of the three choices. Look no further I went thru wisdom tooth procedure for 1 tooth and Feeling good feeling great! Going back for my uppers later

By far the best dental experience that I have ever had under any circumstance! Dr. Lim and the team at DFW Oral Surgeons are true professionals who care about your usually unwanted and painful issues. I broke a molar that I had a root canal on over 10 years ago and it had to be extracted. An hour later I was done and even got a check up call later from Dr. Lim asking how I was doing and that I could call him on his cell if I experienced any problems. A day later...I am pain free and healing. Thank you all for making this process simple and comforting.

This office cares about people. I was not an 'official' patient, my husband is a patient of Dr. Shillinburg so we thought of this office first. I had a dental emergency, needed to see an oral surgeon. Shelby made it happen along with others in the office and I got in quickly! Dr. Lim, Sarah and Alexa worked to help save one of my teeth, it was quick and not as hard a procedure as they all seemed to think! Monica was helpful with the business side of things. Hannah was helpful and I'm sure I'm leaving someone out, I apologize. The whole office is kind, professional, caring and most of all 'fun' - which I have to say is important to me, I know this is a serious business, still, it's better to have fun than not. This is the happiest most well oiled machine dental type office I’ve been to. I couldn’t believe how easy and comfortable it was to sign up to get my wisdom teeth after putting it off for several years due to working in the ER and not wanting to get COVID or spread it to people who needed surgery. Thank you all for building such an incredible team. They must treat their employees well to have that happy if an environment. Would never have expected to say I’d do it all again and will happily get dental surgery much faster if it means I get it with these wonderful people and Dr Castillo! I did have nerve damage that grew back 2 weeks later. There’s a point when you get them out over 30 arhat that they simply can’t take it out without hitting nerves. I did go to the dentist and was able to get in asap to the surgeon to be told this is normal, and in fact, it did heal just fine. It’s part of the consent you sign.

The front office staff was very well organized on first visit to get image scans, & treatment plans, and checkout with Kayley to review insurance was very clear. Overall great experience when it comes to oral surgery. Consultation was easy. Meet staff and Dr. Castillo. Bonded over golf. Explained concerns as a 52 year old who doesnt want to be knocked out to have wisdom teeth extracted. Said we could do nitrous and local but recommends full knock out. Decided to do it but then insurance threw a wrench into that plan, 1600 bucks out of pocket. Ya, no thanks. Did nitrous and local which saved me 1400 bucks. Prob could have used a little more nitrous as I was fully aware of every sound and pull. Done in just under an hour. Recovery has been ok, still a little pain but doing much better a week later. Office did call to check on me 1 week after procedure.

Dr. Castillo is a PHENOMENAL oral surgeon. Skilled, efficient, great personality and I experienced what every coward needs ...NO PAIN. I broke a tooth all the way to the root and I was awake but NEVER felt tooth come out. If you follow his directions for post-op care you will heal quickly. Face never swelled. Site never bled. I never took one Tylenol. Dr. Castillo is the oral surgeon for cowards like me. I did not cry, or flinch. His assistants are super. And the front office staff when you check in and out are ABSOLUTELY THE BEST. ALWAYS SMILING, RESPECTFUL, SUPERIOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I am so grateful that I found Dr. Castillo at DFW Oral Surgeons in Flower Mound. I give him and the entire staff as many stars as the stars at night in Texas. Thank you Dr. Castillo and staff. I can smile AGAIN! Today, 19september/year two zero two three, had to return to Dr. Castillo because a month ago a gold crown from El Paso, popped off and far molar could not be restored. Since I had been to DFW Oral Surgeons before, I was not afraid. Sarah and Catherine were the Best. I had local and was not in chair more than 30 minutes. Catherine covered me with a blue velvet blanket. It was warm. I was given a goodie bag with gauze, instructions for post op care, chapstick, an ice pack that wear on my jaw and head, AND BLUE BELL ICE CREAM! No pain and I am home ready to enjoy my ice cream. Dr. Castillo is outstanding. The entire staff at DFW Oral Surgeons treat their patients like royalty. I am blessed to have a terrific oral surgeon, Dr. Castillo, and his efficient and kind assistants, Catherine and Sarah. God Bless you and all the staff at DFW Oral Surgeons, Flower Mound, Texas. I saw Dr. Castillo again on19Feb2024/ anniversary of Marines at Iwo Jima. Music is very soothing to me and I asked Dr. Castillo for tunes. I heard the Jackson Five, CCR and Richie Valens version of La Bamba. This minor procedure (implant posts) for replacement of molar that lost gold crown back in September, was completed in under an hour. And it was local at my request. I drove home, ate brown rice, a poached egg, pink grapefruit, pecans, blueberries and a wheat noodle soup with garlic and fresh jalapeños. I chewed on opposite side of procedure. I relaxed watching La Usurpadora and Fuego En La Sangre/telenovelas. I am feeling great. No pain and no tylenol needed. I will eat a Siggis yogurt and drink water, brush and floss gently, give thanks to God for Dr. Castillo and the DFW Oral Surgery staff. This is the place where cowards come out smiling because there is nothing to fear. Yes, dental surgeons and entire staff are THAT FANTASTIC.

I cannot say enough good things about this practice. I was terrified to have a tooth extraction and a bone graft. I was very uneasy about the bone graft. The staff made sure that all my questions were answered and that I felt comfortable with my decision. Evelyn was wonderful. She talked to me the entire time to help keep me calm. Dr. Castillo was amazing. He even called me the night of my procedure to check on me and told me if I had any questions over the weekend I could text him...which I did and answered very promptly. I'm 76 and this was my first (3) tooth extraction so, I was a little stressed. Staff and Doctor were all very pleasant, professional, informative, and soothing. Did not see, hear or feel a thing during the procedure. I was a little lightheaded afterwards but went home and took a short nap and everything was fine. I don't want to jinx myself, but I haven't experienced any pain whatsoever. I also, had a good night's sleep. Don't know how it could have gone any better.

I’m very impressed with the surgery. I know the work was rather extensive yet the pain and need for pain medication were minimal afterward. Also I was pleased that the general anesthetic didn’t leave me confused or acting oddly after I woke up.

I broke an implant and it was infected. I called them and they worked in that day. Early the next morning the broken beyond repair tooth was extracted. Very nice very professional special very well organized I have used them before when it was not an emergency they were fantastic then as well. I have preferred family members to them I would recommend them to anyone very well done doctor schillingberg and staff.

Dr. Schillingburg came highly recommended by our dental office and by a friend for my child's wisdom teeth extraction. My child has some medical concerns so I'm always selective when choosing practitioners to find the attentiveness that we need. Dr. Schillingburg was very thorough and fully answered my questions during our consult, took excellent care of my child during the surgery and was patient and understanding when I needed to reach out to him on a Sunday evening following the procedure. My experience at DFW Oral surgeons was professional and at ease. I went in a little nervous about the procedure but was assured everything is okay once I went in the room and talked with the wonderful and helpful assistants. Dr. Shillingburg is great and very friendly! He was great about explaining the status of my teeth and it shows how great the environment is in his practice between his staff. The procedure went smooth and pretty quick. I am so glad I chose to have my surgery here and am happy to go again if need be

Now on to Dr. Shillingburg. My family has used him before, so I have met he and his staff several times. Come time for my surgery, I had a couple visits with John. He makes you feel as if you’re his only patient during the barrage of questions. My elective surgery took 8 hours. He takes the same caring demeanor on my follow-ups. A 100% AMAZING DOCTOR AND STAFF!

Dr. Shillingburg is a very good surgeon. However not the least expensive. I have had three procedures , starting with Dr. Oneacre over 5 yr.s ago. My experience has been great. Minimal recover time. There are some excellent Oral Surgeons in Flower Mound. If cost is a factor, I suggest you shop around.

Dr. Shillingburg is the best! He took my wisdom teeth out back in 2012/2013 and it was a fantastic experience overall. When I, unfortunately, had an accident and needed to see an oral surgeon ASAP, Dr. Shillingburg was the only one I would see- even though I’ve since moved back to Dallas. He and his staff are always worth the drive for me. Everyone is so kind and reassuring. The office is always clean and I 100% trust coming here, even during COVID. Very unprofessional. First they couldn't schedule a consultation and an extraction on same day even when I tried to explain I was referred by an Endodontist, but understandable. I get it. I waited for my first consultation appointment even when I was having severe discomfort. When I finally arrived I had to wait for 1 hour sitting idle in their waiting room, all they could tell me was the x-ray was not working. Then why would you give me a reminder call ? You could have asked me to come the next day instead. Also, I had x-rays from my Endodontist and also my Dentist: you could just get them from there. Why would you make someone wait where you could just see me without an x-ray. I had to drive half hour and wait for 1 hour and leave without a consultation. Such a disgrace to the profession.

Unfortunately, our computer system started an update which caused a delay in patient care. X-rays are a vital piece of treatment planning and diagnosing for every patient. These updates occur very rarely and we apologize for your inconvenience. We would love for you to contact our office as soon as possible to discuss this matter.

Every part of my experience with DFW Oral Surgeons and Dr. S. was outstanding. I was an extremely fearful patient and they calmed me down and removed all four of my wisdom teeth. Dr. S. explained everything to me prior to the surgery and helped calm my anxiety. The rest of the staff, from the front desk to the dental assistants, were also extremely kind and caring. I got my wisdom teeth out a little over 2 weeks ago and I have to say, DFW Oral Surgeons is absolutely phenomenal. From the second I walked in there for my consultation, Dr. Shillingburg and his team were extremely detailed and informative when it came to any questions or concerns I had. Elisa was the dental hygienist (I think) that was with me the whole time, when Dr. Shillingburg wasn’t, and she was very sweet and made me feel a LOT less nervous about everything during the consultation and prep for surgery. I never hesitated to call and ask a question if I had one. My mom was also very thankful for everything everyone did for me and was very comfortable knowing who was going to be doing the surgery. Dr. Shillingburg and his team truly care for their patients and I’m so glad I was recommended to go here for my wisdom teeth extraction. He even called me the day of my surgery to thank me for trusting him and his team. Although I couldn’t respond at that time, I’m very thankful for everything they did for me and I will continue to recommend anyone that needs oral work done to go here!

I had a tooth infection that quickly went bad. The doctor in the ER recommended him to me and filled Dr. Shillingberg on what was going on. On a Saturday morning, he contacted me and had me meet him and another associate in his office to access the situation. His office was closed and he had no obligation to do so, but the fact that he did goes to show that he genuinely cares about his clients. At that point he determined I needed to be admitted into the hospital since I had extensive swelling and was unable to open my jaw. He fit me on for surgery on Monday and fixed the problem. He and his staff are seriously the kindest people. They took great care of me and treated me like family and not like a random customer. I would definitely refer anyone to him.

Dr. Shillingburg and his staff are truly wonderful (and so are their patients!). My son needed unexpected surgery while home from boarding school. Not only did they squeeze us in at the last minute, Marlene was able to move mountains and switch our times with another patient to allow for scheduled senior pics. They really went the extra mile. Oh, and the surgery went just as smoothly as when he did my daughter’s. In today’s medical model, it is hard to find this experience. Five stars isn’t enough!

My experience was amazing, From walking in and talking to the receptionist, from getting my x-rays and meeting Dr. Shillingburg. Dr. Shillingburg is a top notch doctor and a first class individual. He cares about his patients, not only for the work he is performing on your mouth, but for anything he can do to help the quality of your life. I was sent to him by my regular dentist after a weekend of pain with a tooth that needed pulled. He insisted I have some cardio tests done first, (due to some heart issues I was born with), and because of him they discovered my artery was over 95% blocked and put a stent in that literally saved my life. He then did two implants for me that are beautiful. Neither have had any complications. During all of this he discovered a cyst/tumor in my jaw that had to be removed. I had seen many dentists prior to this, none of which had caught this problem in X-rays until him. He removed it, needing to be quite aggressive with taking bone around it, and once again there were no complications. He is an incredibly competent and thorough oral surgeon and a loving, caring, beautiful human being. I recommend Dr. Shillingburg with the highest of regards and confidence for anyone requiring his services.

They were not only able to get me in the same day during my major dental emergency, but they stayed late to preform the surgery I needed. I was terrified to get my wisdom teeth out. I kept delaying the appointment for years. They finally caught up to me and I started having pain where they were. I couldn't avoid the extraction anymore. I came in to the office and made the appointment. The staff are so nice and caring. And the doctor is amazing. He understood my fears. The entire process too less than 30 minutes and I was sedated. They also have nice warm soft blankets that I did not want to give back after I came back to the world. Turned out it wasn't so bad after all.

Several weeks ago, I visited my dentist only to learn I had a severe medical situation that required advanced/immediate attention. He directed me to Dr. Shillingburg at DFW Oral Surgeons, who agreed to squeeze me into his already crammed schedule (less than two hours after seeing my dentist). Even the free bottle of water I enjoyed in the lobby didn't calm my nerves as I waited for my consultation. Without violating any HIPPA laws, I can tell you my situation required immediate surgery the following morning. Yeah, it was that serious but you'd never know it. The staff was more than professional—they were humane. One nurse put a comforting hand on my shoulder as the IV was being inserted. One asked about my kids and was genuinely interested in them. And Dr. Shillingburg? The clinical definition of "cool". His loose and easy-going but confident and knowledgeable demeanor said "hey, everything is going to be okay" without uttering a word. The day after the surgery (a Saturday no less) I got a call from Dr. Shillingburg himself. "How are you doing? In much pain? What can I do to help?" ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The doctor himself called me from what sounded like his kid's soccer game. Who does that? While it is my sincere hope that you never have to deal with a situation like mine, pray that you have the doctors and staff at DFW Oral Surgeons to be there for you when you do. Yes, they are that good and I am that lucky.

I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Shillingburg and his professional staff at DFW Oral Surgeons. I had a badly infected tooth #18 extracted, as well as, extraction of tooth #10 which was extracted and setup for an implant. Dr. Shillingburg was able to do an immediate temp abutment so that I could still have a nice smile on tooth #10 while allowing the bone graft to heal for the permanent crown. This was important to me because I have a client facing occupation as a Software Training Consultant. Dr. Shillingburg kept in constant contact with me from consult to followup. He provided clear explanations about his diagnosis and suggestions for what options I have and what would be in my best interest. Chris from his office also kept in touch with me providing Pre-Op and post-op suggestions. She also comforted me explaining the procedures, helping with insurance claim and scheduling needs. Everyone in his office staff made me feel comfortable. I highly recommend using Dr. Shillingburg.

I highly recommend Dr. Oneacre for any oral surgery. I was impressed with his experience, and he and his staff were very friendly and professional. No one looks forward to these procedures, but it was so much easier than I imagined.

The wisdom removal went very well. I dreaded getting it done for the longest time but I was told it was time. After visiting with Dr. Lim, I was confident in the decision to get it done by him. Him and the DFW Oral Surgeon team made the entire process seamless from beginning to end. After it was completed, him and his team followed up over the a week to make sure I was okay.
