I've been with the practice for several years now, through several practice changes (COVID, office move, going out of network for Delta Dental) and overall have been quite happy with my patient experience. The Hakim sisters are excellent and the care experience is seamless regardless of who are you seen by. The office experience has been great as well. The office staff is readily available by phone, text, and email. I had a reimbursement issue with Delta Dental and the office staff patiently worked with me until the problem was satisfactorily resolved. Recently I had an acute issue come up and the office was able to schedule me in to be seen by one of the dentists the next day. It turned out I needed to see a specialist and a referral was made immediately. Really appreciate how the practice is able to handle things quickly and appropriately. Overall, highly recommend!

I’m so grateful that my nephew introduced me to Dr Mahsa Hakim I have been looking for a dentist whom I could trust. Her gentle and thoughtful composure as well as her adept and artistic hand made the entire procedure ( I had one crown prep and one filling in the same appointment) pain free and the dental experience if not exactly enjoyable ,at least bearable. Dr. Nazanin was amazing. She is very sweet and soft spoken and explained everything in detail and made sure I understood what she was doing, what exact treatment was needed and why. I’ve been a patient of both Dr. Hakim’s for 2 years now and the experience has been genuinely life changing! They take the time to listen to my concerns and work with me to phase out my appointments to best accommodate me! I am so appreciative of them for offering me Botox treatment to treat my TMJ pain. I used to wake up with a sore jaw everyday and thanks to their treatment I am much more comfortable and the pain is gone. The experience was great, Dr. Nazanin reassured me and asked me if I was okay throughout the whole procedure! I am also much more confident in my smile after starting Invisalign with Dr. Mahsa! We were holidaying in San Francisco when the crown of my husbands front tooth broke off. Rang Union Square Dental practice at 8 am yesterday, and at 10 am my husband was being treated by the dentist. She fixed up the broken crown temporarily until we return to Australia. She was personable, professional, and was reasonable in her charges. Definitely recommend.

Words can’t describe how pleased I am with my cosmetic procedure results (veneers) and new smile! I now get compliments on my smile all the time and I feel like I look much younger. Not only did they give me a beautiful smile, but they also aligned my bite so now I can eat with ease and don’t feel pressure on one side of my jaw when I bite. Both Doctor Hakims were so amazing! This is bar-none the best dental practice in the Bay Area. Dr. Nazanin and Mahsa are true masters of their craft and take the time and care to minimize discomfort. More importantly, they're honest. I can't tell you how many Dentists I've been to in the past who've tried to swindle me into doing unnecessary and costly procedures. At this practice on the other hand, the Doctors are always prioritizing what's best for me as a patient, not what's best for their balance sheets. In fact, at my last visit they talked me out of replacing a crown on my implant that was coming loose which other dentists told me was 'impossible' and 'beyond repair' and they took the time to actually repair and reseat it properly. This not only saved me a couple thousand dollars, but it also saved me a lot of wasted time.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hakim for more than 10 years. I appreciate her genuine passion for wanting the best for her patients. I always know that I'm in good hands and that she and her staff will address my dental issues in the best way. In town for business I had a crown come off. Dr. Mahsa and her team were amazing in making me feel comfortable and at home. Their work was extremely thorough and my temp crown feels like a permanent. I would highly recommend them!

Historically, I feel quite unsettled at the dentist. This context is worth mentioning because of how comfortable I felt at Union Square Dental. Dr. Mahsa Hakim and Sophie both have sweet voices and genuine, soothing presence that put me at ease even through the routine prodding and scraping. After a single painless checkup / cleaning, my teeth look and feel remarkably healthier (my partner also noticed how nice they look). I also really appreciate that Dr. Hakim took the time to go over my X-rays, 3d imaging, overall prognoses, and recommended next steps (being mindful of prioritization and cost effectiveness). She also patiently answered each of the many questions I had. I left with not only refreshed, clean teeth but also a clear understanding of what was going on with my teeth, gums, and bite + what would be best moving forward (simple, straight-forward, easy to adhere to solutions). I recently had an appointment with Dr.Botros and it was by far the most enjoyable dentist appointment that I have experienced. It had been a long time since my last appointment and I was incredibly apprehensive about my visit leading up to it. Once I was in a chair, Dr.Botros immediately made me feel at ease and was very understanding about my nervousness. She calmly explained everything that was gonna happen, and while she was in my mouth made sure I was comfortable the entire time. I would strongly recommend her to anybody.

I just had my top four front teeth restored after one very old root canal failed, which led to a major infection, followed by an apicoectomy and a new root canal on the adjacent tooth, all of which ended with extracting both teeth and implants. Dr. Mahsa Hakim handled my case post-implant and did a marvelous job not just consmetically but functionally as well. She cared as much about the mechanics of my bite as my appearance. I’m so grateful for her holistic approach - now I have teeth that look amazing and fit my mouth, maybe for the first time in my life. I can’t say enough good things about the care I received from the entire team there.

Everyone here is just the best. The place is absolutely beautiful, the staff is wonderful, and the doctor remembered me and my family after not seeing me for 2 years. Truly superb experience!

One of the best dental practices I’ve had the pleasure to visit. I’ve had a lot of dental work done in the past including braces, maxillofacial surgery, etc and this office was top notch. I was looking for a new dentist closer to our home and my husband recommended Union Square Dental Practice. I emailed them to schedule a cleaning since I skipped them in 2020 due to the pandemic and was taken care of by Nicole who is very organized and able to get all of my paperwork done before I stepped into the office. I was very impressed at my appointment as the receptionists were on top of everything including anticipating who I was as I walked in. Dr. Hakim (I believe I was seen by Dr. Mahsa, they’re sisters) was transparent about the procedure and recommendations. I usually have to ask follow up questions but she was ready with explanations throughout my visit. I would highly recommend visiting this office and look forward to being a long term patient.

I've followed around Hakim doctors as their patient for the past two decades. Where ever their office, I followed them; just did not want to lose them, even before they moved to Union Square. Speaking of moves, I'd recommend anyone in the city who is exploring and searching for a new dentist to at least pay a visit to their new state of the art office; it is stunning, from the overall look to every little detail, including the brand new equipment and shiny futuristic rooms. You'd think that is the best part about this practice. It is not. The best part is the people of this all-ladies office. What makes them great is the way they handle you as a patient. They minimize your natural dental office visit anxiety by explaining what they will do in detail that day and when they do proceed, every one of them is as gentle as one can be treating a patient, with a fine mix of friendliness and professionalism. That includes not just the docs themselves, but hygienists too! When it's all over, upfront ladies make your payment/billing/scheduling experience as easy as can be, and it's usually taken care of in a minute or so. In short: smooth from beginning to end at this practice. I ask myself sometimes, what will I do if and when they decide to retire in say 30-40 years?? I don't want to have to change my dentist!

Union Street Dental handled a situation VERY POORLY that resulted in extreme stress to me and a threat to my personal information. What happened to me was very unprofessional and uncalled for, and I'd NEVER RECOMMEND this dental practice based on my experience. (I see at least 1 more reviewer had the same experience on Yelp, I'm sure there's more.) I informed Union Street Dental I was temporarily moving out of the country the week following my visit in March 2019. Nicole confirmed I had a zero balance when I left, as I wanted to make sure I paid off everything I owed (or they anticipated me owing) before my move the following week. I also would not have a forwarding address since I do not have anyone to help with this. Fast forward to November 9, 2019, I received a call from a man in the US who said my name and didn't give details about himself or who he was working for. He proceeded to tell me I owed money to my dentist. This was new to me and was the first time I heard of this. I calmly told him I'd call the dentist to verify with them. He began to SHOUT at me saying if I didn't give him my credit card number right away, he would destroy my credit immediately...there would be no second option. I happened to have him on speakerphone and was in the room with my Nest camera, when I told him he was being recorded, he became angrier. He said, look, I tried to help you, you should have paid me your debt, we'll be damaging your credit today. For real? Who in their right mind would give their credit card to ANYONE (especially an angry man) without proper verification??? I mean, you hear about these scams daily. I panicked and called the dentist's emergency line. I got Nicole. I asked her what was going on and to verify this. She told me, oh, yes, I remember your name, I had to get you off my A/R, so I sent you to collections. Note: This is the same person who confirmed I didn't owe anything when I tried to close my account before moving. I asked Nicole why she didn't contact me. She told me she received returned mail from my address (because I moved like I told them) and tried my email address (which I closed because it was compromised and being used by someone else). Note: Email IS NOT a preferred way for me to receive medical/dental notifications, I always select by PHONE as a preference. So why didn't she just call or text me? She told me mail and email are easier and thought they were enough. Really...REALLY?!?!? Did she know the collections guy got me the first try? Moreover, Union Square Dental GAVE THEM MY PHONE NUMBER. Maybe this all could have been resolved back in March/April if they called me? (By the way, they did send me a text in September letting me know I was due for a dental visit...for real?) But instead, because this office was too lazy to give me a call or text, they decided to send me to a shady collections company for $80...which is peanuts. I would have gladly paid this whenever the dental office wanted, but they didn't bother to exhaust all options by calling me. I called the collections agency back and got another guy. I complained about the way I was treated, but the new guy continued to treat me like a deadbeat criminal. He then told me, "you do realize we have your SSN and all your private information, we can do whatever we please with it". He was insinuating he was going to do shady things with my SSN!!! He got nastier and made more threats. I just paid him to shut him up and get him off my case. (Note: He recited my SSN to me without requiring me to give any information to verify myself, what if it wasn't me? This is the type of company this dentist likes to work with, SHADY.) I demanded to speak with the dentist after all this. She apologized but didn't really make this right...and didn't offer to reimburse the $10 collection fee. Just to reiterate, MY PRIVATE INFORMATION IS UNSAFE NOW!!!!!!! Now I have to be fearful of those uneducated, unprofessional men using my SSN and personal information inappropriately or selling...all for $80 and this office's inability to CALL or text me.

I have been their patient for couple of years now and have been very happy with my results. Everyone is very professional. My interaction has been great with their team. All my appointments have always been on-time. Their office is also very nice and modern with a great view of SF.

Is it weird to love your dentist? I've been going to Union Square Dental for over 6 years for everything from routine appointments to an 18 month Invisalign journey. My teeth are amazing thanks to Dr Hakim. I seriously look forward to my 6 month cleaning. From Nicole at the front desk to both Drs Hakim to the all the hygienists, they make your regular dentist visit a pleasure. I can't recommend them enough.
